Dedicated to my grand-parents

This film relates a story each can live one day : discover a place by accident and totally fall in love with it, feeling how subjectively unique it is. Finally wondering if “Everything happens for a Reason”. And especially, in the stunning village of Playa Junquillal, Costa Rica.

Visit California! from Paper Fortress on Vimeo.

I was recently commissioned by the lovely state of California to create a film highlighting something about their state as part of the “Dream 365” Project. I decided to highlight as much of the state as I could by taking a road trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles with a few friends / crew members.

Check out the rest of the projects here:

I shot this handheld from the wrong side of the helicopter, over another the shoulder of a guy who was shooting the whole thing on a RED camera and using stabalizing equipment so please excuse the shakiness of this video.

Marc Newson on designing watches from Dezeen on Vimeo.

In this movie in our series filmed with Marc Newson in his London studio he tells us about the watches he’s designed, including the first ones that he built himself in the late 1980s.

Flicking through a proof of his new book for publishers Taschen, Newson shows a 1:1 image of a model from 1986 that’s as big as his fist, saying “I pre-dated the trend for large watches by about a decade.”

Newson also talks about jewellery he’s designed, the huge glass Atmos clocks powered by tiny changes in temperature and the hourglass full of ball-bearings that was his last product for the Ikepod watch brand he founded.

Gene Campbell is desperately trying to keep his family together. After a drug induced rant gone viral, Gene has fallen from one of the most respected evangelical pastors in the nation to the laughing stock of the internet. The only place that will hire Gene is his father’s old church, New Jerusalem, in Lubbock Texas.

A Hollywood Casting and Film Studios presentation.
Directed by Andrew Fairbank (MEGA Media Entertainment).
Produced by Sunny Vachher (HCandF Studios) and Briana Frapart (MEGA Media).

Running on Empty (Revisited) from Ross Ching on Vimeo.

With “Carmageddon” looming in Los Angeles, I decided to take my “LA with no cars” video and re-edit it with new music, coloring and opening shots. Editing was done in Final Cut, coloring done with After Effects and shot on a Canon 60D.

Music: Wim Mertens - Often a Bird

Here’s the basics:
1. Record for 20-30 mins.
2. Go frame by frame and grab pieces of the road that aren’t obstructed by a car. Eventually, you will have every piece of the road.
3. Put the static image of the road in with the moving background.
